16-Week Base Training Plan - Experienced Athletes
Base Training forms the foundation of your running fitness! It is this foundation that prepares runners for more challenging, race-specific workouts and training plans in the future.
In this 16-week base training plan, experienced runners/walkers will cover 400mi of EASY running or walking, which will culminate in a celebratory half marathon.
A Few Things To Note:
- This plan is designed for an experienced athlete. This person should be familiar with running or walking long distances and may have completed a half marathon (or more) at some point in their fitness journey
- This plan keeps in mind those preparing for runDisney's Goofy or Dopey Challenge
- There is no speedwork in this program
- By the end of this program, you will have built a strong base atop which you can continue to build, focus on strength, speed, or take on the next phase of your running
